In the area of research, the Institute is involved in the characterisation of molecular causes of certain monogenetic diseases as well as complex diseases such as cancer.
Stem cell research, reproductive genetics, bioethics, toxicogenetics, metabolism and signal transduction are related research areas. The development of new therapeutic approaches for human genetic diseases is a central research goal.
